_______________________________________________To answer Cheryl and Kristie’s question for you all,
We are working on a way to make ResearchIT available to kids even if they don’t have a library card. We hope to have more information for you soon.
With regards to Sebco, when you click the link below the username and password (that sebco provided) will auto fill. Then it asks for the child’s school ID number or library card number and name. I tested the site with “dummy” information and was able to gain access. What you’re doing by providing that number is creating an account so that the Sebco software remembers what books you’ve accessed, where you left off and so forth. When re-entering the site, it will only ask for your number, not the name again. Perhaps you can come up with a way to provide “account” information to your students so that they can gain free access to the material if you’re worried about their information, perhaps their initials.
I hope this helps some of you.
Best,
Kym

Hi all,
Kym, eSebco is asking for login info. Do you have a special link perhaps for the free access?
Thanks,
Cheryl

Hi Kym— wondering if there’s any chance ReSearchIT is going to lift the library card / IP address authentication requirements during this period of distance learning ? Lots of towns have closed their public libraries (as you know).
