I've been doing a lot of work both using and helping others to use Screencastify, and I just wanted to add that you can use screencastify to record your Slides playing in your own Browser tab and record your voice over what's happening over that tab.

In the extension, you would:
Choose the browser tab option
Deselect embed webcam (unless you want to be visible on the screen).
Under "show more options"- Turn on drawing tools if you want them, or off if you don't
Click "record" to start recording everything that happens on that one tab until you stop the recording.

Of note:
If your slideshow will direct you to something that will open in another tab, the other tab will not be visible in your recording because you will only be recording the browser tab that is open when you click the record button.

If you need a minute once the recording starts to get the slideshow going or whatever, don't worry- it's very easy to clip off the beginning of a recording once you've made it.

I also had the same trouble inserting audio. I used Screencastify. The premium version (which is free now) allows you to download your video as an audio file. Good luck.

I would publish your slides to the web in order to view them in the browser. That tool is under the File menu. Then just use the url that is generated when you click publish. You can share viewable slides that way too by sharing the url.

What is the file format of the audio? Try mp3 files. If you only need to record your voice, use online voice recorder. It is SO easy to use. Just drop the file in your drive and insert it into your slide.

I am having trouble with 2 things in Google slides.

I want to send my slides in presentation mode(full screem without side frames) . All of the tutorials that I listened to said to copy the uRL and replace the word "edit" with "present". I tried this and can't figure out what I am doing wrong but the slides are still in edit mode still when I click on the link. Any ideas?

I am also having trouble inserting audio. I used the Microsoft voice recorder on my computer. I uploaded the file into my Drive with no problem. They are not showing up in my drive when choose "insert">"audio" in slides. I can see them when I am in my drive and know they are there.

Subject: [CASL-L] Online Class Infographic
Hi All -

A teacher contacted me looking for an infographic or other resource to help middle school students understand online class etiquette (Using polite tone, posting in the appropriate places, etc.)

I have some on Netiquette in general, but they seem to be more about social media than online classes, or they're directed more toward college or older students. If anyone knows where I can find one, I appreciate your assistance.

Thanks for your help and ideas -
Mary Beth
