Hey all.

I just wanted to share. I know that Sora is normally associated with schools, but this is a summer program that just so happens to use the Sora platform. The program is open to anyone who's willing to provide an email address to access it. The directions are below. I just followed them and I'm listening to The 57 Bus. If you follow these steps you should be alright.

  1. Download Sora from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Open Sora and tap I have a setup code (at the bottom of the screen).
  3. Enter this setup code: audiobooksync.
  4. Enter the email address you used to sign up for SYNC.
  5. Tap Explore (at the bottom of the screen) to see the week’s featured titles [SYNC 2020 starts April 30]

I hope this helps a bit, although I understand if someone can't or would rather not use it. This not a State affiliate program. Just a free resource that I thought I should share just in case someone was interested.

Best,

Kym

Coincidentally, I did these steps just this morning because I tried to download this week's books, but my school doesn't have Sora either. Sync Help works fantastic; they got back to me right away. Sync works great with Sora if you access it following directions Rita shared. One thing that is key is making sure that you officially sign up for Sync at their site BEFORE you try to access the Sync audiobooks through Sora. Signing up first makes it even more seamless. I'll make a short video tutorial to show students how to do this at my school.

Happy audio-listening/reading all!

I have loved promoting Sync every year, but this year the books get downloaded to Sora not OverDrive. To get the app, you have to choose your school. My district is balking at signing up for Sora. Would any of you have some new ideas for me as I try to persuade my district that Sora is a good thing?

Thanks!

Hello everyone, please excuse the cross posting!

Starting tomorrow, the Sync summer audiobook program begins again!

SYNC is a free summer audiobook program for teens 13+. Returning April 30th and continuing 13 weeks until July 29,  SYNC gives participants two thematically paired audiobooks a week.   In 2019, 28 titles were given away over 14 weeks.
