Hi.
I assign K-1 in Seesaw and 2-6 in Classroom.  Although grades 2-3 often respond in Seesaw for an assignment.

For grades 4-6, they have been working on research.  I used Google Slides for their information (like hyperdoc) and also asked them to complete all notes by adding slides in the same deck.  This keeps it simple and it's only 1 place for them to go.  They will be creating a technology project to show their work and for that they have free choice.

I create a video every week to go with my assignment.  I use Screencastify to record the video so I can show them how to do the assignment as well.

I agree that simple is best.

Hi all,

I am currently sending out weekly assignments via Google Classroom to 19 grade 3-5 classes. I am finding that my rate of participation & completed assignments is always highest (and the number of tech questions low) when I create and assign activities using Google Forms. Flipgrid and Padlet work well for some things but we use them a lot....

I received a ton of tech related questions from my students when I assigned  Nearpod and Edpuzzle activities (plus, I didn't love the reports on either.). Google hyperdocs seem to overwhelm many of the 3rd graders.

Super simple seems to work best for us right now.

What are you using to create weekly graded or ungraded assignments and activities? What is working well for you? What should I try next? With six weeks to go I need some inspiration.

Thanks in advance!!
Carrie

Subject: [CASL-L] Advocacy & Inspiration
Hello all,

Please set aside 30 minutes today to watch this facebook live recording with CASL vice-president, Melissa Thom talking to Michele McAvoy, author and creator of the My Messy Muse podcast. There are a lot of takeaways here—tips, resources, and a good example of how to joyfully advocate for our students, our profession, CASL, etc.
So good!!

Have a great weekend,
Carrie
