It won't exactly help what you are looking for specifically here, but in case you don't know about it, CT Humanities has had a project called TeachIT CT which we have contributed lessons to on the high school level. These are mini inquiry lessons using CT primary sources such as our digitized CT newspapers, artifacts from CT museums, documents from history organizations in CT, etc., and there are lessons for Grade 3,5,8 and high school level that match with the social studies framework.
I believe there was a lesson about our CT Native Americans, but it may have been at the 5th or 8th grade level from what I recall. Check it out to see if you can use any of the sources or get some ideas.

Hi All,
Our 3rd grade team is asking for the following:
A video about the indigenous peoples of Connecticut (and even better would be if it were about the Algonquin tribes or the Agawam, which were in Suffield.) Also something about the influence of the Connecticut River on the development of cities and towns.
I have always found it challenging to find age-appropriate resources on this topic. I have emailed the Pequot Museum without success. I would be so appreciative of any suggestions! Thank you!
