I'm doing my best to "listen" well as anti-racist conversations play out here and in the whole world. As we've seen in this listserv, communicating is key as well. We all make mistakes. We are all human beings. Accepting, owning, and learning from our mistakes is so important. Thank you, Andrea, for being a role model for all.

Wow, thank you, Andrea, for your candor.  We are all works-in-progress as we strive to be anti-racists.  I've always used "Clan" as my husband is of Scottish heritage, and I'm beginning to rethink that as well.  At least we are learning, growing, and becoming better human beings.
Best,
Cheryl

Some have pointed out to me that my use of the term "tribe" is offensive in this context.
Please accept my apology, it was thoughtless and inappropriate.
Beginning the work of exploring our own biases means listening to others.
So thank you to those who have brought this to my attention.
I am thinking hard about how to better express how being an LMS is such an important part of my identity.
Thanks,
Andrea
