Hi Allison:
Similar solution to Jane’s response .. are you familiar with Google Jamboard? Create a mood meter background..you can create this using a variety of apps. Upload all of your kids’ photos into one file so that you can import them as objects. As soon as my power is restored (out due to Isaias), I’d be happy to work through this with you 1:1. A lot depends on what platforms you and your kids plan on using.

If it’s for the whole class to see you could...,
If you make that as the background for a google slide and then either take their photos and put them all along the outside gray area that shows on your screen when you have a slide open.  Or they take a photo and  add it but they would have to resize etc which depending on the grade could crazy if they are all doing it at the same time.  So I would have them either submit a photo to you thru classroom or you take the photos and then you could place them along the sides at the size you want.  Then the student find their name and drag it to the appropriate square.  I think I put a 4 square template on our shared folder that you could modify.
If it was for an individual, then still make the same slide with background and push out thru classroom as. One copy for each student and they could add their photo and resize and place in appropriate spot.

Dear collective braintrust,
Before I reinvent the wheel, I'd love to seek your wisdom.  I am looking for a way for students to drag their photos on a RULER-based mood meter.  The mood meter is four squares and students identify their current mood/emotional state by identifying a color.  In person, I would typically have students place a velcro-backed laminated photo on the square each day to share how they're doing when they enter class.  However, I'd like to have them do it on their devices to avoid touching the photos and the board.  Any suggestions for a tool that will allow me to do this?  I was thinking I could use Padlet, but it wouldn't really be the interface I'd like to show the square.  Any suggestions will be much appreciated.  Thanks!
