Meet the New Executive BCALA-Connecticut Affiliate Board and 
BCALA National Presidents 

 



Hartford-The Black Caucus American Library Association Connecticut Affiliate (BCALA-CT)will host a virtual meet and greet on August 20, 2020, from 6:30 -7:30 PM ET.  Join us as we discuss our mission, history, and goals for the upcoming year. You will also have an opportunity to meet current National BCALA President Shauntee Burns-Simpson and immediate past National BCALA President, Richard E. Ashby Jr., via Zoom.  We will also provide membership information for those who are interested in joining. The BCALA-Connecticut Affiliate is committed to working with the library community and dedicated to help promote diversity and inclusion in all libraries. 


The BCALA- Connecticut Chapter was established officially in January 1999 as a statewide organization. Organized in January of 1999, BCALA-CT came together after a conversation between Dr. Howard F. McGinn, former Director of the New Haven Free Public Library, Diane Y. Turner, and Aissatou E. Sunjata.
