If the map is in Google drawing, then the kids can use the polyline tool to draw and then the bucket to fill in areas over the map. The transparency for each color can be customized. I've attached a quick example.

There are likely better tools for this but I am trying to be mindful of the emphasis on the Google suite and the number of Chromebooks being used by students.

Hello,

I would appreciate any feedback/suggestion for the following question, thanks in advance:

The SS department has a question ... when we are doing map work with our students we often have asked students to shade areas of a map.  We are a little stumped on how to do that using a digital map as opposed to a paper and pencil map.

Are you aware of any  programs/apps/techniques we could use?
