Hello,

I have a teacher looking for free online resources for a research assignment for her 6th graders.  Students will be looking at different aspects of culture, general information about the region and its people.  Some students wanted to research African Americans - but she was concerned that all they/she found were negative aspects of the history, slavery, etc.  She was wondering if there were good sites to find aspects of culture not necessarily slavery - perhaps something more modern.

She was looking for Culture Grams, but we do not have a subscription.  Any thoughts as to what I can suggest?  We found The World Factbook - CIA, but wanted other suggestions.  Thanks so much!

Respectfully,
