Hi all,

Our Overdrive/Sora Rep did not recommend integrating Sora into Destiny because of the cataloging/maintenance required when a book was no longer available.

Have a great day,
-C.

Hi,

I’ve been trying to integrate sora and destiny as well. I see in destiny admin where you can integrate the two, but my rep said they can’t provide integration because I don’t have a paid version of sora? They said I can download them and then upload to destiny.

Those that have integrated the two, do you pay for sora or overdrive?

Just to clarify.

Our Destiny/Sora are synchronized. That is to say, our Destiny is updated automatically when we get new books in Sora. It happens at the admin level. The "switch" was flipped on a little more than a year ago for us.

We previously manually uploaded Marc records each time we purchased books. I still have the manual records in as duplicates. I have to figure out how to remove them.

I recommend asking your rep about synchronization.

Shannon

Good Morning:)

Our MARC records from SORA/Overdrive get added to Destiny so when students do a search every format of a title available shows up. I teach students to do a search in Destiny if they aren't sure what they are looking for, but if they know they want an ebook or audiobook of a specific title, I have them search in Sora:)

Also, I am working on creating shelf talkers for all the titles we have available in digital form.  It's a big file, but feel free to make a copy and hyperlink titles from your collection.

Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, I am happy to chat with you. If there is widespread interest, we could offer some type of PD through CASL too:)

Have a great day,
Melissa

I have students search Destiny and Sora separately which has worked well so far. I have an e-?book and audiobook page with the link to Overdrive/Sora.

I would also be interested to hear how others have this set up or if there is a way to integrate.

Subject: [CASL-L] Any way to integrate search with Sora and Destiny?

Happy Monday!

We just got Sora in my district and are looking to mostly use that as our ebook and audiobook platform.

I'm curious how you all integrate Destiny and Sora--do you have students search Destiny and Sora separately? Do you know of a way to integrate the two or do you have any tips?

Thanks for your help,

Rachel
