I'm sure school librarians can qualify as teachers if they aren't ALA members.

I did a little research on this topic and it looks like you do have to be a member of ALA. Here is some basic info about the program:

But as Cathy said, you get back your membership cost in the first couple of months.  My cart for January was worth over $400 worth of audio!:)

Hope this helps,
Melissa

Happy New Year! Thanks for sharing! Jill so we do not need to be a member of ALA?

Cathy- Can you say more about the ALA requirement?

The Educator ALC program is completely free, and usually offers 10ish free ALCs per month- you just have to be a school employee (so tell your colleagues!).

As a colleague of mine reminded me, however, you need to show proof of ALA membership to get the free downloads.  For me, the downloads balance the price of ALA membership in a month or two.  The book choices are consistently quality.

Happy New Year!!

This info has been shared before, but if you have not already taken a few minutes to sign up for Libro.fm's ALC program, then definitely take a look at January's audiobook list. It is GREAT—49 audio books all free for the taking.

As usual, I downloaded over $300 worth of audio books. I am so appreciative of companies like this one that take good care of school librarians!

Here's the link! Enjoy!:
