Dear Friends:
I'm surfacing just like my snowdrops to let you know that this coming Monday evening, March 1, I am going to have a Zoom chat with Karen Schumann at RJ Julia Booksellers at 7 pm EST, to celebrate the release of my newest picture book, Hear the Wind Blow. It's the story of the rising and falling of a windstorm near a place by the sea. Based on the Beaufort Wind Force Scale, it's brightly and boldly illustrated by debut illustrator Emily Paik and published by Albert Whitman & Company. It's a breezy tale, it must be said.
I hope family and friends will join us!
Guests can register for the event at RJ Julia, and the Zoom link will arrive to each guest on the afternoon of the event.
I'll also be offering a Storytime on March 9 at 4 pm.
If you come to the Storytime, I'll show you how to make a paper pinwheel!
These are the ways to register for the Zooms:
At both events we'll sing one of my very favorite traditional American folk songs. Can you guess which song it is? I'll give you a hint: Angels in heaven know I love you.
If you want to practice the words in advance, check out my playlist on Spotify! It features covers of this tune by America's greatest crooners, pickers, and rockers--from our local favorite, Phil Rosenthal, to Ike and Tina, Johnny Cash, Tex Ritter, Pete Seeger, Solomon Burke, Richie Havens, Otis Redding, and other remarkable artists. You can thank me later if when Otis and Solomon get you right outta your chair.
Always,
