Last month I inquired about affordable inventory scanners (Destiny's new Versascan looks dreamy but it $1300).
Many are hooking up a laptop on a cart and using wired circulation scanner, which works but seems cumbersome.
I tried out this $36.99 wireless scanner from Amazon, and it indeed works great!

Plug the USB into a computer you are not using otherwise, as the cursor needs to stay in a Notepad file, which I then uploaded to Destiny. It has a good range (advertised as 328 feet). It was plug and play for me, though some librarians in Amazon reviews said they had some issues but customer service stuck with them until it was resolved.

Cheers,
Sara
