A terrific student from my high school, Sophie Kudler, just published a book and would love to introduce it to your students (virtually or in person if that is a possibility). I have pasted her email to me and contact info. below in case you might be interested in having her do a teen author visit/workshop at your school:
My name is Sophie Kudler, and I am a junior. I am reaching out because I wrote a children's book about KenKen puzzles (number puzzles using all arithmetic operations to fill in each box of the puzzle) titled KenKen For Kids!, and my book was published by KenKen Publishing Company over break!
The book is set up as a workbook, so I explain important information, walk through how to solve the puzzles, and then there are puzzles for the reader to solve and certificates of mastery at the end of each chapter.
I have been competing at the KenKen International Championship in New York since 2018, and I placed in the top 5 of the high school division in 2019 (the most recent competition due to COVID). I also serve as the national KenKen organization's social media manager.
The book, which specifically is written for children, uses simple language and techniques to teach anyone how to solve KenKen puzzles. I have a lot of experience teaching KenKen to others as I have been teaching on Zoom at a non-profit organization in Hartford for elementary- and middle-school students, and I also am teaching at the West Hartford Senior Center over the next two weeks.
Thanks so much,
Monica
