Hacking for Animal Rescue

Sunday, May 16 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm EST


Join with Random Hacks of Kindness Junior and Foster and Forever Pet Rescue of Naugatuck to address the lives of homeless animals. Foster and Forever team has worked to develop a network of fosters and volunteers who help take care of our homeless pets. Together with mentors, participants will have the opportunity to create apps that provide tools to help improve the lives of animals in need.  Participants create prototype smartphone apps using Code.org's App Lab with the assistance of high school students and college computer science mentors.

Saturday, May 22 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm EST

Join with Random Hacks of Kindness Junior and Simone Waters, MSW, LSW Director of Outreach & Development, New Horizons in Autism to design and create apps addressing Autism. The latest CDC data states 1 in 59 children are diagnosed with ASD, affecting 1% of the global population. Experience first hand how you can use technology to create positive change.  Participants create prototype smartphone apps using Code.org's App Lab with the assistance of high school students and college computer science mentors.
