I purchased some barcodes to label Chromebooks with ranges 0000-4999 from Demco in the fall. Not even to scan necessarily but just for labeling since they are stronger than address labels. The Demco people were great at helping me set them up over the phone.(The motivation was that Chromebooks were returned to any haphazard school in our decent-sized district at the end of the summer.)Here's a pic.On Mon, Jun 7, 2021 at 8:37 AM Tenley Stoltz <tenley.stoltz@somers.k12.ct.us> wrote:Good morning,My curriculum director asked me to organize and catalog the curriculum library this summer, and I'm looking to order barcodes. I thought it would be an easy process, but when I went to fill out the order form I realized I have lots of questions that I can't answer. The last time barcodes were ordered was 2006 from Bibliomation, which was several media specialists ago. I'm not sure what the final barcode number is, so I can't start from there. We use Destiny Follett for our catalog. I'm looking to order 1000 single barcodes to put on books from TLS (The Library Store.). Here are my questions-- Do I use the 4 digit library identifier?- Do I just pick a random start/end number (800000-900000) that I know hasn't been used?- Barcode format? Code39, Codabar, Follett Style "Interleaved 2 of 5", Mod-43, Mod-10- Do I need a check digit?Any help would be greatly appreciated.
