I am reaching out to see if you’d be interested in moderating a breakout session (or 2 or 3 or 4) for this year’s nErD Camp PA being held via Zoom from 9 AM – 2:45 PM EST on Thursday, July 15th.  Last year’s event was pretty incredible, especially considering it was the first time we had ever organized a nErD Camp – and this year’s event is shaping up to be even bigger and better!  We currently have over 130 authors and educators organized into almost 50 different breakout sessions.  And as of right now, almost 500 people have already signed up to attend.

Below are what we expect moderators to do:

* use their Zoom accounts to create the link(s) for the panel(s) they are moderating

*
admit participants into the Zoom Room, mute participants (as needed), and remove participants who are not acting appropriately

* keep their eye on the chat and read any questions or comments, as requested by the panelists

* help with the basic technical aspects of Zoom such as explaining how to screen share or how to access the chat

Moderators will need to attend one brief (30 minute) meeting with the nErDCampPA organizers prior to July 15th to review expectations and answer any questions. We recognize that summer is a busy time, so we will organize a number of these with the hope that one will work with your schedule.

If you have any questions, please let me know.  Below is the day’s schedule and the Moderator Sign-Up link in case you decide you’d like to work with us.

Thanks, in advance, for your consideration!

“Literature transforms human experience and reflects it back to us, and in that reflection we can see our own lives and experiences as part of a larger human experience.  Reading, then, becomes a means of self-affirmation, and readers often seek their mirrors in books.” ~ Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop, Professor Emerita of Education at the Ohio State University
