Greetings,

The Connecticut State Library Division of Library Development is embarking on the evaluation and planning process of our Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grants to States program as required by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), and we need your insights, help, and feedback.

Every five years, each state library administrative agency in the nation is required to conduct an independent evaluation of its implementation of LSTA-funded activities in order to qualify for ongoing Federal funding.  Connecticut receives approximately $2 million in LSTA Grants to States funding each year.  Following the evaluation is the requirement for the submission of a new state-level five-year plan for the LSTA program.

Library consultants QualityMetrics are assisting with the evaluation and have been gathering information and data from a number of different sources including the State Program Report (SPR) submitted annually to IMLS, internal statistical and narrative reports, survey data, and personal interviews with State Library staff as well as with representatives of the CT library community.

With that, we would like your help in assessing the impact of the LSTA program on your library and on the people that your library serves. You are invited to share your thoughts and ideas by answering a brief survey that should take you no more than ten minutes to complete.  Please respond by Monday, November 1st.

Survey: http://s.alchemer.com/s3/Connecticut-LSTA-Survey-2021

The survey will ask you about your awareness and use of LSTA-funded activities, to reflect on usage over the last five years, and space for any other observations on CT’s LSTA-funded programs.

Thank you in advance for helping the Connecticut State Library serve your community better!

Best,

Kym (she/her)
