I recommend Devil in the White City by Erik Larson, about America’s first recorded serial killer case and Killers of the Flower Moon, about the first major case investigated by the fledgling FBI. Another good one is The 57 Bus by Dashka Slater. This book details a case in which two teenagers’ lives were intertwined by a tragic, reckless action.
