Not that this is the case in your high schools with lawn boy...
I know that this might seem like a no brainer, but when complaints occur please confirm that everyone is discussing the same book- AUTHOR AND TITLE!
In the past (in a middle school) I had a complaint about a book on the summer reading list and the parent was complaining about same title, different author! People hearing about these issues without the facts, with overheated emotions and online catalogs can blow things up.

Hiello,

Thank you so much for the quick response!

Barb, I will contact you separately for specific advice and next steps.

We will report this immediately.

Ghost Boys was brought up as a concern in a 3-5 schools, and teachers were asked if they had it on their shelves. Upper admin is looking at it at the middle school classrooms and library (where I am) as well the high school library. Lawn Boy was removed from the classroom library shelf of a teacher at the high school, and the high school librarian was asked to share the book’s history of removal.

We teach in Suffield.

Thank you!

At this point, admin are reading the books, but we have concerns about whether our BOE policy will be followed. Additionally, we have classroom teachers looking for guidance as to what to do if and when admin come to remove titles from their classroom libraries.
