Hi everyone,
My school is using Humphrey for a One School, One Book program soon after we get back from vacation. I was thinking of having students design hamster mazes using the library materials.  My thought was that the 4th and 5th graders can make cardboard mazes using our Make-Do cardboard set.  They can also use Legos or Keva Planks.

I impulsively borrowed a set of Dash and Dot robots from the state library service center.  Are these robots worth my trouble?  We do not have tablets, but I have confirmed that I can interface using our chromebooks.

(Side note, if you do not borrow from the state library service center, I highly recommend it!  My wonderful mentor Anne Porier taught me how to access it and I have never turned back.)

Anyhoo, I was thinking we could design a tape maze on the floor and then program the robots to go through it. However, I have not done this and I am not sure if it will work.  I have one coding mouse, but I do not have funds for more.  Otherwise, I thought that would work for my idea.   Any other suggestions?  Any insight?

Thanks for any suggestions and guidance. I apologize for my rambling email.  It's just dawning on me that this one of my grandiose ideas may be too much to execute single-handedly.
Happy New Year!
Allison
