Attached is the job description from 2009 that our district uses for the two LTAs (Library Technical Assistant) we still have. The HS LTA doesn’t really participate in PD. No
one has directed her to participate. At the LTAs have been expected to join the paras, however, our newly hired LTA was never told directly to do that. We have not had her join them. There is plenty for her to do without attending the PD that doesn’t apply
to her. Both LTAs do all the required trainings for all employees.
Good luck!

Subject: [CASL-L] Library Paras, Assistants, Aides
Good morning,
I'm looking for a little help. I am fortunate to have a library para who is AMAZING! She does everything and keeps the LMC operating smoothly while I am running all over the place. Her job title is library paraprofessional, but her job
is so unique from other paras. During our PD days she currently falls under our Special Ed department, so none of the training is applicable to her.
I was just wondering what job titles other LMC paras have at the high school level (para, assistant, aide?) and if you have a job description for the position would you be willing to share.
Thanks so much,
Tenley
