We are proud and excited to announce the launch of the Mohegan Tribe’s Educators Project, a combination of resources and tools available free of charge to educators and homeschoolers focused on Mohegan/Native American studies. This first initial phase of the Educators Project includes:
While this is just the very first of many phases of the Project, a special secured website has been created. Content will be regularly added to the site where teachers can find lesson plans, printable study and film guides, worksheets, and video assets to help aid in their efforts to bring Mohegan/Native American studies into the classroom. Units and lessons are available for K to 12 teachers and can be tailored to meet the needs and educational standards of the respective classroom.
What makes this project even more special is that it has been exclusively worked on by Mohegan Tribal members. This project is being worked on collaboratively by the Council of Elders, Cultural & Community Programs, and the Communications Department.
The Director of Mohegan Curriculum and will also take a very active role within the project, not just creating
new curriculum but also being an aid and guide for educators/homeschoolers.
