Subject: Re: [CASL-L] iPad Apps for PreK-2I'd be happy to do that, too, Alyse. I don't use iPads much with my littles, but I have a couple fav apps.

I am looking for PreK-2 peeps who would be interested in getting together on Zoom or in a Google Meet to talk about apps that you use with your students. Since our building doesn’t have a technology teacher, I teach technology classes in addition to traditional library classes. IT wants to help me put apps on a set of 25 iPads to keep in the library. I am wondering what apps you enjoy using most with your students.:) Alyse CastonguayLibrary Media SpecialistNorth Street SchoolWindsor Locks, CT--Sent from My iPad_______________________________________________

Subject: Re: [CASL-L] (no subject)Sara Levine is awesome for that grade range. We hosted her pre-covid. Students, staff, and parents loved her presentation. Plus, it was great to have a female scientist since there are still not as many women in the sciences. Our district curriculum specialist attended and loved her presentation as well. Every school should host her. I want to have her back because she was so great. If you don't have her books, they are a must purchase.Another bonus is that she didn't charge for a hotel as she stayed with family in CT. Not sure if that is still the case, but it was a great savings.Sarah Lynch, National Board Certified Librarian

I agree with David Biedrzycki! We've also had Brian Lies. He was excellent.

We had David Biedrzycki come to out K-5 school and all the kids loved him! He does a great presentation about creating the art and the ideas behind his stories. He was out last author visit pre-Covid, we haven't had anyone since, but the kids still talk about him! He's in MA.

K-2 author visit
Hello,
I am looking to book an author/illustrator for an author visit this spring. Can you provide some recommendations for a K-2 audience? Maybe someone more local as my budget is limited.
Thanks so much.

Subject: [CASL-L] vendor to install or fix a/v wall jacks?
_______________________________________________We used to work with HB Communications for AV & ed tech, such as installing wallk jacks for ceiling mounted projectors. HB Communications was bought by Diversified in August 2021, they do not have any CT locations listed on their website. Does anyone else know of a vendor that works with AV wall jacks for projectors?
