African Town book has a great audio version as well.

Brand new book in verse about the final voyage of the Clotilda with a cargo of men, women, and children from West Africa, 1860:
African Town by Charles Waters & Irene Latham. #ownvoices, too.
A Sitting in St. James by Rita Williams-Garcia might work, too.

Greetings,
Can anyone make recommendations for alternatives to The Adventures of Huck Finn? Looking for diverse texts and authors that would address the experiences of slavery in America that are appropriate for 9-10th graders.
I have a couple titles in mind but I figured I'd ask my fellow CASL experts.
Thank you,
