I use Google Sites, too, for many of the same reasons others outlined. Another advantage is that it's easy to customize certain pages to be viewable only to people who have Google logon credentials for our district (for example, to access our subscription databases).

I agree with everything said. 
I haven't finished updating mine yet for the year Hurlbutt Elementary LRC (PreK-2).
I like that I can easily insert items from my Google Drive. We used Google forms for the Charter Oak Book Election and I was able to easily inserted the resulting bar graph.
