I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for, but Pooja Agarwal has done tons with Retrieval Practice and it is amazing. I've done it with my own personal teens at home. There are tons of resources and info on their website and the books Make It Stick and Powerful Teaching are amazing. 

She takes cognitive science and helps to change how we used to take notes and learn.
