Beginners Guide to Augmented Reality

Wednesday, October 26 from 3:30-5:00

Augmented reality (AR) can be a highly effective resource, especially with a strategic plan. We will review the basics of AR, while exploring simple, yet spectacular tools.  Get the inspiration to begin using augmented reality to transform lessons into interactive learning playgrounds. This session will be of interest to teachers, librarians, and district leaders. Immersive technology is available for all grade levels and subjects.

 

Beginners Guide to Virtual Reality

Tuesday, November 15 from 3:30-5:00

Explore the best practices when determining the best approach to implement virtual reality (VR) in the classroom. Identify the best hardware and software to begin this journey and what tools are most beneficial for specific purposes. From Chromebooks to mobile devices to VR headsets, this session will address simple and effective ways to bring virtual reality to your curriculum. 

 

Presenter: Jaime Donally

Jaime Donally is an author, speaker and EdTech consultant, providing staff development and training on immersive technology.  She is well-known for her expertise in augmented and virtual reality and has recently launched Global Maker Day (coming up October 18) and the #ARVRinEDU community.  Her books include Learning Transported and The Immersive Classroom.

 

Following these two workshops, Jaime will host two office hours where you can come and talk to her about projects you have or are considering doing.  They are scheduled for November 29 and 30 from 4:00-5:00 p.m.
