Circling back to the Reading Bike.....my bike has arrived! I received my in-district grant and I'm launching the bike tomorrow. I'm trying to build excitement today, not yet revealing what we've acquired. I wrote up rules for our Read & Ride bike and created a Google Form for students/staff to sign in on and track their reading mileage (miles are recorded, not pages).Thank you to everyone that responded to my original inquiry in September, most especially Val DiLorenzo (for the stationary bike suggestion) and Kara Gumke (for the rules suggestions).Best regards,Jodie D'AlexanderOn Tue, Sep 13, 2022 at 10:10 AM Charline Cupole via CASL-L <casl-l@mylist.net> wrote:_______________________________________________Hi JanineThese are the bikes that we purchased through a fund raiser in 2017. They are durable and students really enjoy them! Happy biking & reading.Smiles... From Amazon, during summer of 2018 I bought a FlexiSpot Desk Bike Chair Home Office Workstation Standing up Exercise Bike Indoor Height Adjustable Desk Cycle. Looks like it's currently well under $500 and it's still going strong with LOTS of regular use from students who LOVE it! (Easy to assemble; however, be sure to put the pedals on correctly, or they'll keep falling off and they might get stripped.)

I am looking for recommendations on reading bikes (stationery/recumbent bikes for the library.) The old stationary bike from my home is a big hit and I'd like to add more. From my limited research, it might be tough to squeeze this idea into a PTA $500 grant...Thanks,Janine
