Do any of you know anything about the program below? It sounds great, but this is the first I have heard about it, so I thought I'd inquire.
The Library Speakers Consortium (LSC) is working on a new initiative to bring bestselling children's book author talk programs to elementary schools. Right now, only the best-resourced schools can regularly afford the speaking fees of top authors. Our vision is to change that dynamic by pooling the resources of thousands of schools to dramatically expand access to these programs for all kids. LSC will produce 2-3 online author talk events each month focused on different grade levels with the goal of inspiring kids to read more. The live and recorded author talks will be available for use by teachers and media specialists. We've already confirmed more than a dozen bestselling authors for the program launch including Kate DiCamillo, Jeff Kinney, Dan Santat, Shannon Hale, Oge Mora, Kate Messner and Matt de la Peña.
Please note that membership pricing will double for schools that join after the initial launch so it would be beneficial to connect soon if this is of interest.
If you are the appropriate person to speak with, what does your calendar look like? If not, who do you recommend I talk to?
Thanks in Advance,
Becky Brent
