I have a cover one and have found it great to give longer life to many books, but I have not kept track of the number of books we have saved through the use of this machine. I can tell you if you have one or purchase one, it is important to use parchment paper to ensure you don't have glue leak onto the heating surface and to protect the spine label covers. Some brands can melt under the heat from the machine. I have heard of schools sharing one machine to save money which would definitely make it more worthwhile, but you have to either transport it and the supplies or go to a different school to perform saved up repairs.

When I purchased mine maybe 4 years ago, I took book fair cash profits and purchased directly from Cover One. Was able to call and speak with them directly when setting it up and learning to use it and they were very helpful in sending a how to guide and tips and gave additional advice over the phone. I am happy with my purchase and would purchase again, especially if shared between schools.

I've done some more research:
The model sold on Scholastic looks like the 520 model and repairs up to 2 in. thick. This model also looks like it's sold on CoverOne for $995 without accessories. https://www.coverone.net/products/520/
The model sold on Demco repairs up to 3 in. thick.
I'm waiting for info. on the Scholastic model to see the height limit on the books it can repair.

Good call Judy! Looks like the same machine with the same accessories and it's $300 cheaper from the Scholastic Dollars catalog.

Is this the same one or similar to the one you can get with Scholastic Dollars? I’m looking to get one and our book fair was profitable.

Hello,

The librarians in our district are chatting about this Demco Cover One Book Machine and I'm wondering if any other librarians have this or have used it before and can provide feedback?

Do you love how it repairs books? Do you think it's worth the almost $1800?

Thanks for your thoughts!
