We have participated for at least 3 years in this challenge.  We have students fill out the permission slips using the words from the rules that NPR specifies.  Here is our slip from last year.  I have not updated for this year yet to reflect any changes.

Hi everyone,

I had a teacher email me about the NPR Student Podcast Challenge Contest.  I am wondering if anyone has had students enter it before and how did it work with the Connecticut Data Privacy Law?  It does say in the contest rules that student podcasts have to be submitted by an educator or student leader who is 18 years of age or older.  I am thinking if it is submitted by an educator, the student data privacy law would apply because technically it is being submitted on behalf of the school.

Thank you for any insight on this!
