Hi Alexandra - In our district, we have technology teachers, a k-2 teacher and a 3-5 teacher. At the K-2 level, they teach basic computer skills and more. I support that as well in the library.

Depending on the teacher, some actually "teach" how to do those skills vs. just expecting kids to know. I think our K teachers do quite a bit, although they follow the lead of the tech teacher and I. We let them know when something's been introduced.

I was wondering how basic computer skills (using a trackpad, highlighting, copy and pasting, etc.) are introduced at the elementary level in your schools, as well as who is in charge of that (library media specialists? classroom teachers? STEM teachers?).  Thanks for any perspective you might be able to provide.
