It is happening in so many districts in CT. I used to think these things wouldn't happen in Connecticut. I wonder if it is beneficial to let this group know when it is happening. I know I had an "incident" last year, and it was very disheartening and stressful. A former colleague and wonderful friend of mine is going through one now. There tends to be a mob mentality, and social media just breeds misinformation to spread and get parents worked up. It really is censorship- people aren't content to make decisions for their own children, they want to decide what all of our children should have access to.

If you are going through this, please know you're not alone. It is scary to become the villain in town when all you're trying to do is encourage kids to love reading. Lots of us are here for you if you need to vent. I know some great resources have been shared here in the past as well.

Doug Lord was among the first to reach out when I had my "experience" in the fall. It's great to read more about him. Thanks for sharing, Chris.
