We have addressed this topic with students, parents, and staff as it has become a known issue in classes. We are also using TurnItIn to scan papers for potential AI written material.
This is just the beginning, and there's still a lot to learn and work out, but here's what we drafted:

Clarification About AI and Cheating:

Advances in artificial intelligence (AI), including large language models such as Open AI’s Chat GPT, pose evolving possibilities as well as challenges for educators and students. Because we expect each and every student to demonstrate our Core Value of Integrity, it is important we clarify unambiguously that turning in as one’s own the words or ideas of others is cheating, including doing so using sources such as Chat GPT.  Please take a moment to review our Academic Integrity Policy which states that violations are subject to consequences including loss of credit, removal from National Honor Society, parental notification, and more.

Is anyone having discussions regarding the impact of ChatGPT or other AI tools on student work? Would love to hear what you're experiencing, and if (how) schools are addressing this.

Thank you!
