CABINET MEMBER SHAAN'S RESOURCE FOR MAKING CARDS FOR ELDERS

As part of his Valuing the Elderly platform, Cabinet Member Shaan wants 5th graders across Connecticut to send cards to senior citizens in their communities! Shaan created a "How to Make Cards for Elders" presentation and recorded this video message to encourage students across Connecticut to join him in making cards!

CABINET MEMBERS JACOB AND MAXENCE TO HOST ANTI-BULLYING DAYS

As part of their platforms to address bullying and cyberbullying, Cabinet Members Jacob and Maxence are teaming up to host Anti-Bullying Days at their schools! They are also working with other nominees from the 2022 Statewide Election, like Ameilia from Strong Elementary School and Danny from Oshana Elementary School, who are also hosting anti-bullying days at their schools.

Jacob and Maxence also created a "How to Host an Anti-Bullying Day!" presentation to encourage other students to host their own anti-bullying days!

ELLIE AND HER CABINET VISIT THE CAPITOL

Last month, Kid Governor Ellie and her Cabinet visited the State Capitol in Hartford. Aaron, Jacob, Liliana, Maxence, Scarlet, and Shaan (as well as their families) toured the Capitol with the League of Women Voters, met with Governor Ned Lamont in his office, were introduced on the floor of the House of Representatives and the Senate, met with their legislators for one-on-one meetings, and visited with Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz and Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas!

Ellie and her Cabinet will be writing blog posts about their day at the Capitol and their platforms for your students to read!

“My daughter was a finalist in her school for Kid Governor and I remember the passion she came home with, talking about her project. It brought out a sense of pride and agency in my daughter that I hadn’t seen before.”

- Dr. Miguel A. Cardona, U.S. Secretary of Education and former Connecticut Commissioner of Education (September 2019)
