There’s a really funny video of Cookie Monster going to the library for the first time in an old episode of Sesame Street. It is a great way to dive into what a library is and how to take care of books. Plus, who doesn’t love Cookie Monster?? 💕

I’ve also started the preschoolers and kindergartners off with a focus on loving to read and the idea that reading is magic. I’ve used Press Here by Herve Tullet and the students take turns following the directions in the book. The little ones have always really enjoyed this book. It’s a good way to learn their names, teach taking turns and following rules, and build excitement about books in general.

I hope everyone has a wonderful start to the school year!

Does anyone have a fun way of introducing the library to Kindergarteners?
I'm looking to shake it up from how I have done it in the past.
