Hello Everyone,
Last year, we had the amazing opportunity of sharing with our students the Besharat Art Foundation's Bringing Art to Schools Program. For our Global Art Project, we had a portrait in each classroom and completed activities with our advisory groups prior to putting them on display in the hallways.

The idea is that participating schools pay it forward and share the experience with others.  If you are interested please check out their website  for more information and let me know. I'd be more than happy to deliver the portraits to your school or meet up (we have just over 30, 3'x2.5' posters).

Thanks!

Michelle

https://besharatfoundation.org/ According to their website, "Education is more than just reading, writing, and arithmetic. While not always comfortable, our world is increasingly global and diverse. We always have a choice: to stand upon our similarities that bring us closer to each other, or emphasize superficial differences that can drive us apart. A more harmonious, balanced, and prosperous society builds on similarities, rather than differences.

At The Besharat Arts Foundation, our goal is to nurture sympathy and empathy among children of all ages. The ability to understand the feelings of others is crucial for the future custodians of our planet and all life on it.

Our method is simple. We bring art to schools in the hope that daily contact with thought-provoking art will help children acquire a deeper level of understanding and empathy for our planet and its people. There’s no preaching or lecturing required – art works exhibited in a professionally curated show on the school walls will provide all the answers and hopefully inspire students."
