I have been teaching PreK for many years now.  I don't grade them or have a specific library curriculum for them, but I do use standards from the PreK curriculum.  Also, I teach them how to choose library books and how to manage book circulation.  My main goal with them is to grow a love of story and language and to see the library as a welcoming place.  Here are the standards:

  • Attend to a story in a group or individualized setting

  • Engage in conversations about the content of a book

  • Retell information from a story

We have just been informed that we will be adding preschool to our schedules.  There is no curriculum and none of us even has experience teaching preschoolers.  We are about to embark on writing the curriculum, but were wondering if anyone out there already has a curriculum that we could look at that could help guide us in the right direction.  Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
