Hi everyone,
While working on our middle school library budgets for next year, the Newington middle school LMSs would love to get some information about the middle school libraries in our DRG to help us advocate for our program's needs. Our major focus is equity and building libraries that better represent the diversity within our schools.
DRG D includes:
Berlin, Bethel, Branford, Clinton, Colchester, Cromwell, East Granby, East Hampton, East Lyme, Ledyard, Milford, Newington (us!), New Milford, North Haven, Old Saybrook, Rocky Hill, Shelton, Southington, Stonington, Wallingford, Waterford, Watertown, Wethersfield, and Windsor.
We are looking to find out some basic info from your Titlewise reports:
- Your average collection age
- Your collection size
- Your items per student
- Your % of diverse titles
- # of titles falling into African American, Latinx/Hispanic, First Nations, Asian American categories
We really appreciate any information you'd be willing to share with us! You can email us directly as opposed to sharing with the entire ListServ. Your responses will only be used to get a baseline for us to use as comparison data; we will not publish or share your district name or numbers outside our department and our administration.
Thank you,
