Apply to Direct a NEH Landmarks or Institutes Program

Applications to direct a NEH Landmarks or Institutes program in 2025 are open until February 14, 2024.

What is a Landmarks Program?

Landmarks of American History and Culture programs for K-12 educators and higher education and humanities professionals situate the study of topics and themes in the humanities within sites, areas, or regions of historic and cultural significance to expand participants’ knowledge of and approaches to teaching diverse histories, cultures, and perspectives in the United States and its jurisdictions.

What is an Institute?

An NEH-funded institute is a professional development program that convenes higher education faculty or K-12 educators from across the nation to deepen their understanding of significant topics in the humanities and enrich their capacity for effective scholarship and teaching.

Head to the individual program pages for more information and resources to assist you with completing your Landmarks and Institutes application.
