There is a fee schedule depending on the size of your school and when you might purchase.

The representative that I met with today is Becky Brent.  Here is her email becky@libraryc.org if you want more information on the program.

Have a good day,
Andrew

I am also curious about the cost of this.  Does anyone know roughly how much it is?

Hi! Yes, we are using it in Region 13 too - K-5.

Ditto to everything Christina said. We have worked hard to keep our teachers informed, but having the recordings is amazing, because the sessions are all during our lunch recess block at one of my schools.

Feel free to reach out with questions.

Our district signed up and it is great.  Our kids are hearing from amazing authors that we could not possibly afford to bring in.  The program includes pre and post activities/discussion questions and every talk is recorded and available to watch on the teachers' timeline (if the live talk does not fit in the daily schedule).

I think one important key to successful implementation is keeping the teachers notified of the upcoming author talks. A week before one is coming up, I try to send an email to all teachers to remind them and send links to the read aloud or pre/post activities included on our school portal (set up by Book Break).  There is always room for improvement and I think having instructional coaches in the loop to link the stories/author focus to reading and writing units would be helpful.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

Good Morning Everyone,

Has any elementary schools signed up to use the Book Break Program this year?

I would love some feedback if you have used it.

Thank you for your time,
