Good Morning CT Libraries, here’s what’s going on this week.

The Maker Roundtable is live in Farmington this morning talking about marketing your makerspace. 

 

On Wednesday the Northwest Corner Library Directors Roundtable is meeting on zoom.

 

Also on Wednesday we have a vendor webinar with Universal Class.  This online learning resource has over 600 courses covering everything from debt reduction to cake decorating to slack.  Best of all it’s right priced for most libraries to afford. 

 

Thursday, we’re hosting a webinar with the Employer’s Association of the NorthEast on Managing Mental Health:  ADA, Leaves and Employee Morale.

 

Friday is our Young Adult Roundtable talking about homework help and advisory boards.

NEWS OF NOTE

 

Alice Knapp of the Ferguson Library was interviewed for an article in American Libraries about public libraries establishing themselves as book sanctuaries to counter bans.

 

And, in Public Libraries Online, one PLA attendee wrote about attending the Take Your Child to the Library Day presentation with Amanda Stern and Caitlin Augusta of the Stratford Library.

 

Manchester votes to acquire property for new library.  Also in Manchester, the State Bond Commission approves $3.5M for new library!

 

The State Bond Commission also approved 43K for Hagaman Library in East Haven for a replacement cooling system.

 

D-Day remembered at the Groton Submarine Force Museum and Library.  

 

Blackstone library in Branford hosts passport fair with Congresswoman DeLauro.
