Good Morning CT Libraries, here’s what’s going on this week.

CLC HAPPENINGS

Thank you to everyone who came to the CLC Annual Meeting last week!  We are thrilled to announce two new Board of Trustee Members:  Sunnie Scarpa of the Wallingford Library and Elizabeth (Liz) Wright of the Connecticut IB Academy in East Hartford and that Tom Piezzo of the Southington Library has been elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees!

New Director’s Roundtable on Wednesday at 10am.

Headed out to ALA?  I’ll be on the Tech Talk Stage on Saturday morning talking about the CLC contract with Amazon.  More info here.

NEWS OF NOTE

CLA President Sarah McCusker talks to Marketplace’s Kai Rysdall about library ebooks!  How cool is that?

North Haven library launces homebound delivery service!  And here.

Manchester approves land swap making way for new library.

Goshen Library Board votes to keep Gender Queer on the shelf.

If you or your library is in the news and I miss it, drop me a line!

THINGS I THINK I THINK

One of my favorite things to do when I have five minutes of down time is scroll the CLC facebook page and see what all of our libraries across the state are doing.  Everyone is so creative and doing such wonderful programs.  But there is one in particular I want to call out today.

And, I know I am biased.  I know that.

Still, I have to tell you all that East Hampton is killing it on facebook.  Check out the promo that they did for summer reading and the one that they did for their new Transparent Language Learning Online resource.    So good.  Check out their full page here for inspiration.

Have a good week,

Ellen
