Chronicling
America: Rights and Responsibilities
Sponsored by the Library of Congress Serial and Government Publications Division and the National Digital Newspaper Program, the third annual “Chronicling America: Historical Newspapers for National History Day Research” program will present Chronicling
America as a research tool for students and educators in National History Day research for the 2024-2025 theme “Rights and Responsibilities.” Participants will be introduced to the new Chronicling America interface and learn to apply new features in order
to successfully and efficiently research topics of their choosing. They will also learn the benefits of including historical newspapers as a rich resource for research. This presentation will be hosted live on September 11, 2024 from 1:00-1:35pm EDT and will be recorded for later viewing. For those unable to attend this program at the time, the recording
will be available for viewing afterward at the Newspaper and Current Periodical Reading Room’s
Event Webinars collection. Individuals requiring ADA accommodations should submit a request at least five business days in advance by contacting (202) 707-6362 or
