Actually, authentic articles written by "real" authors are much more useful than an AI which will parse everything out into neat "sides."  In another listserv, some librarians have been discussing print v. online reading, so here's one example that might be interesting to eighth graders.

It would be helpful to know what the students are actually studying, as the alternative is to find an article in that subject.

I would have the teacher try MagicSchool AI, and use their Informational Text Generator https://app.magicschool.ai/tools/informational-text-generator

They can be as specific as they like as to what to include in the article and the reading level and MagicSchool will create something. And probably create worksheets or graphic organizers to go along with any activity.

Hello All,
I am looking for some good sources of pro/con articles on various topics. The teacher is looking for articles (appropriate for 8th graders) that discuss a topic but don't list out the pros and cons. She wants students to be able to find them in the article.

Does anyone know of any free sources for this? My budget is a third of what it was last year so I don't have the funds to pay for something.

Thank you!
Kim
