We’re officially three weeks out from the second annual CLC Vendor Expo.

What is a vendor expo, you ask? Well, first let’s talk about what it’s not.

It’s not that large exhibit hall where you look down at your feet to not make eye contact with ten vendors so that you can just get to the one vendor you actually want to talk to.
It’s not a slimy sales pitch. ‘Buy this now!’ ‘Low, low prices!’ ‘Act fast, this sale only lasts until the end of this week.’
And, it’s not getting trapped at a booth with a sales person you really don’t want to talk to but you don’t know how to politely get away.

So, if it’s not any of these things, then what is it?

It’s an amazing breakfast and lunch with your colleagues. Seriously, the food was excellent last year.
It’s choosing six vendors (among the 22 vendors attending) who you actually want to learn more about and listening to a presentation from them about how they’ve helped other libraries.
It’s getting a swag bag full of product samples. We’re giving away book lights, hot chocolate bombs, tumblers and more.
It’s about following up with any vendors who you want to learn more from.
It’s about winning raffles. We’ll be giving away a ton of free stuff and gift cards.
It’s about taking back information to your library on products and services your students and teachers would love.
