The major difference is that it is no longer focused on the student outcomes, but your own practice. It is, as mentioned, essentially the performance and practice goal. The CCT rubric (service delivery or instruction) comes into play only with respect to what you select as your single point competency for observation. That does not have to be connected to your goal (though some districts may be requiring that), but it makes sense to do it that way.

So,where a past SLO would be "x percent of students will meet a standard by x date as a result of x instruction," it will now be "I will use x instructional strategies to increase students' skills/knowledge in x."

According to our new forms - you still have to select a goal.  It might not be called an SLO any more - but we still have to write up a goal and a rationale.  Some districts have tweaked the state form a bit and have their own forms as well.  You also still have to explain the length of your goal (can put up to three years)  and what type of evidence you'll be submitting.

We should be moving away from SLOs and to more or a review of practice (like TEAMS).  My project this year is to increase student
independence in the library (grade 3 and 4).
