Then, you'll have until the summit ends to watch whatever you'd like ... as many times as you'd like.

🤔 What to do during the Ditch Summit

Watch the Ditch Summit welcome / tour / tutorial video here

If you’re new to Ditch Summit — or want to make sure you’re not missing out on anything — watch our Ditch Summit welcome / tour / tutorial video here.

Here’s a to-do checklist of what’s possible while the Ditch Summit is open …

  1. Watch a video — maybe a newly released featured speaker or spotlight sponsor session. (Or you can pick a presentation from the Ditch Summit library.)

  2. Check out the PDF notes for a session (whether you watch the video or not).

  3. Generate a certificate of completion for professional development credit.

  4. Check out the Wakelet collection (kind of like a Pinterest board) for more resources about any session.

  5. Discuss the session with others in FigJam, a collaborative whiteboard space where everyone can share.

  6. Reflect on what you’ve learned using MirrorTalk (and you can win prizes, too!).

  7. Take creative visual notes with the Book Creator notebook. It’s a special one made just for Ditch Summit.

When you open up a video presentation page, you’ll find buttons to do all of those things on that page. You have lots of options. Don’t forget to click and try some things!

Let's get started!

PS: Don’t forget to share what you’re learning on social media using the #DitchSummit hashtag on social media — Twitter/X, Instagram (log in to view hashtag), Bluesky, wherever!

📺 FEATURED SPEAKER 📺

Learning Students LOVE Through Curiosity and Questions with Trevor MacKenzie

WATCH: Learning Students LOVE Through Curiosity and Questions with Trevor MacKenzie

Curiosity. It’s a powerful force.

It’s what drives students to learn about celebrities and video games and coding and other things outside the classroom.

When used in the classroom, it can take learning learning to new heights.

How can we plan for curiosity?

How can we intentionally include it in teaching and learning?

Trevor MacKenzie, the author of Dive into Inquiry, has lots of ideas. Two practices you can start using right away: provocations and question routines.

In this session, Trevor shares some examples and strategies you can use to start “diving into inquiry” with your students.

Plus, you’ll find tons of resources to get you started in the Wakelet collection for Trevor’s session. Just look for the blue button below his video.

🔎 SPOTLIGHT SPONSOR 🔎

Creative, Visual Student Activities with FigJam

Digital whiteboard tools can be a great place to brainstorm, to organize ideas, and for students to show what they’ve learned.

FigJam (by Figma for Education) has so many unique features that make learning visual and fun. (And it’s totally free for education!)

Sure, students can drop sticky notes, create a flow chart, and add images.

But a fun photo booth to snap a selfie? Voting and polls? Even custom washii tape?

Plus it has TONS of pre-made templates for education that will get your students started right away.

In this super practical session, David Curran from Figma shows you some of his favorite FigJam features and ways to use it.

BONUS: You can try out FigJam right away! On the video presentation page, just click the “Discuss This Session in FigJam” button!
